About Tanja Dekker illustration and publishing

The twikga name stands for my illustrations and the heritage of the twikga publishing company. twikga books aimed to open the hearts of its readers for the wilderness, with its diversity of animals, plants and landscapes. What you love is what you cherish. We believe that opening your hart to the small wonders of life will make you appreciate what you have and passionate about preserving the world around you. Visual art and story telling are powerful ways to do this. The publishing company was founded when we lived in Hamburg and closed down in 2016 when we decided to move back to Holland. /span>

illustration and publishing stories

When we were students we traveled around the world and took snapshots to tell friends and family back home about the places we had visited. Nowadays our pictures tell the stories of endless landscapes, animals in their environment, magic light and surprising details of nature. 

We realize how privileged we are to travel the world and hope that by sharing our pictures with a broader audience, through our websites, exhibitions, books and social media, that we may contribute to the protection of the places we were fortunate enough to visit over the years…
